Thjorsardalur Valley

The incredible Þjórsárdalur Valley, with it´s lush vegetation into a moonlike volcanic landscape right at the roots of Iceland´s most active volcano Hekla. On route is The Waterfall Háifoss is one of Iceland´s highest waterfalls, the excavated 10th century viking hall at Stöng, and Gjáin, a remarkable rock formation with cascading waterfalls and incredible vegetation; almost like a set for an adventure film. The Thjorsardalur can also be done as an extension to the Golden Circle tour. Accessibility may be restricted because of weather and/or season.
